Grandparents feel as if something is missing when visits are monitored. The best part of grandparenting is having the kids all to yourself. Taking them to the movies, playground,
shopping out to eat are some of the pleasure filled activites that grandparents look forward to doing. Somehow these things hold special meaning and seem like a normal part of being a grandparent. Which should be about having fun.
When grandparents are denied the outings, they feel cheated. Sure theyget to visit once in awhile but only when it's convenient for the parents and sometimes only when the parent is there. not ideal for the grandparents or the kids, but certainly better than nothing.
